Verdant Labs ("we", "our", "us") operates the VeganCat mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and profile photo. You may also sign in using Google or Apple, in which case we receive basic profile information from those services.

User Content: Posts, comments, messages, and photos you share on VeganCat.

Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, and crash reports to improve app stability.

Camera and Photos: We access your camera and photo library only when you choose to take or upload a photo. We do not access these without your action.

Location: If you enable location features, we collect your approximate location to show nearby content. This is optional.

Push Notifications: With your permission, we send push notifications for messages, likes, and other activity.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the VeganCat service
• To personalize your experience and show relevant content
• To send notifications about activity on your account
• To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and policy violations
• To improve app performance and fix bugs via crash reports

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Firebase (authentication, crash reporting), Cloudflare (file storage), and Neon (database hosting) — only as needed to operate the service.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which will remove your profile and personal data. Some content (like posts in public feeds) may be retained in anonymized form.

Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your profile information in the app
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications via device settings
• Request a copy of your data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

VeganCat is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
